Liner Notes

Quasi-political song, written while waiting in a courtroom to non-contest a ticket in hopes of leniency.

I have to apologize for the last verse, the lyrics are awful. I didn't put much time into this one as you can tell...

Lyrics

I’m here tonight your honor
To give my senseless plea
I’d like to plead “no contest”
And I hope that you’ll pity me

See I’ve lost faith in this country
In this land of the brave and free
No faith left in our system
Of so called Democracy

I wonder can you tell me
What it’s worth?

To be the strongest nation
On this Earth?
I know my vote is counted
For whatever that is worth
When choices are constrained between
“terrible and worse”

How do the parties pick them?
Do they read the signs on our lawns?
They’re just the winning bidders
Transformed to stuffed shirts and pawns

I wonder can you tell me
What it’s worth?

To be the strongest nation
On this Earth?

And I wonder can you show me
What it means?

When nothing is at all what it first seems.
