Liner Notes

Ever since watching The Blues Brothers time and time again with my sister growing up, I've always had a special place in my heart for old school blues... and since I recently wrote a sentimental song for my deceased dog Corey I also felt it appropriate to compose something for Charlie, my new "junkyard dog" from the pound. Charlie is super sweet at home but ridiculously aggressive (aka "dickish") with other dogs...

So, I figured I'd combine an old blues riff with a totally improvised lyric about my "dickish boy" Charlie... Odd combination? You decide...

Special thanks to Muddy Watters and the youtube performance I stripped the harmonica from. ;-)

Lyrics

Now we went down to the pound
Just a few months ago
My wife and I said
We’d find a nice little dog
But now he’s home
It’s been way past 90 days
Want you to believe me baby
Once he got home, he turned into a dick

He’s a dick
I spell D… I, child… C - K
That represents dick
No G… O – O child…. D
That means he’s a dickish boy
He’s a dick
He’s a full-blown junkyard dog
He’s a dick
He’s a natural born dickish boy
He’s a dick
Yeah he’s a big ole dick
He’s a dick
But somehow he kinda grows on ya

Sittin’ outside on my front porch
Just me and my dog
Ya know I thought he’d be cool honey
But man, I was wrong
Now wasn’t he a dick?

I spell D… I, child… C - K
That represents dick
No G… O – O child…. D
That means he’s a dickish-boy
He’s a dick
He’s a full-blown junkyard dog
DICK.
He’s a natural born dickish-boy
He’s a dick
Yeah as soon as we got him home
Dick, child
Yeah he’s a big dickish-boy
Let’s break it down
