PADI Diver Education

AquaMunkee Scuba offers quality education through professional teaching organizations such as PADI, Emergency First Response, Divers Alert Network, and Diving Science and Technology (DSAT).

Discover Scuba Diving - $40

Introductory pool session to experience the sensation of breathing underwater for the first time.

Bubblemaker - $65

Very similar to the Discover Scuba Diving session, but this introductory pool session is for children ages 8-10.

Scuba ReActivate - $100

The Scuba ReActivate pool session gives new and experienced divers a brief refresher to review certification skills after time away from scuba.

Open Water Course - $275 complete

If taking part 1 of open water separate from part 2:
* $185 Part 1 (classroom and pool session) only
* $100 Part 2 (open water checkout dives) only

This two-weekend course is your entry to the world of scuba diving, and with your certification as a PADI Open Water Diver your certification card will be recognized worldwide as your gateway into diving adventures.

The referral option allows you to sign up for just the first weekend - the pool sessions only. This means you won't be a certified diver once you are done, but you will be given all necessary paperwork to be able to complete your PADI Open Water certification with any other PADI instructor.

The referral option is ideal for those planning to complete their certification while away on a dive vacation.

Adventures in Diving Program

- Adventure Diver (3 dives) - $150
- Advanced Open Water Diver (5 dives) - $200
- Advanced Open Water Diver (from Adventure Diver - 2 dives) - $90

As soon as you finish the Open Water Diver course you are eligible to enroll in the Adventures in Diving program. This program offers two certification options - the 1-day Adventure Diver or 2-day Advanced Open Water Diver courses. These courses are both designed to extend the skills you learned in the Open Water class by introducing you to new aspects of scuba diving.

In the Adventure Diver course you will complete 3 Adventure Dives, chosen from any 3 PADI Specialty Courses (see list below). An Adventure Dive is your introduction to the PADI specialties; allowing you to sample a specialty course by completing just the first dive of the course. An Adventure Diver certification can be completed in a single day or each dive may be conducted on separate days based on your interests and schedule.

In the Advanced Open Water course you have the same option to choose any 3 Adventure Dives, plus 2 more required dives to earn your Advanced Open Water rating - Underwater Navigator and Deep Diver. The Advanced Open Water certification is often used as a qualifier for charter dive boats, and in most cases wreck diving charters in Lake Michigan will not allow a diver to participate without at least Advanced Open Water certification.

Emergency First Response Course - $75

This non-diving course is both challenging and fun. It provides the layperson with essential life-savings skills that could mean the difference between life and death while waiting for Emergency Medical Services to arrive.

This course is recommended for anyone interested in being able to help others in an emergency, and it is also a prerequisite for the Rescue Diver course.

Additional Emergency Training:

Rescue Diver Course - $200

Most students who complete this course agree that it is the most rewarding and challenging course they have taken in scuba. While the Open Water and Advanced Open Water courses taught personal diving skills, the Rescue Diver course is designed to build your awareness for the safety of other divers while also increasing your own confidence.

Specialty Courses

AquaMunkee Scuba offers training in several PADI specialty courses designed to give divers an in-depth understanding of specific aspects of scuba diving.
