Ralph J. Gable

Ralph Gable

First certified to dive in May 2005 with Diversions Scuba of Madison Wisconsin, Ralph went on to complete Advanced Open Water and had 36 dives during his first summer of diving. In the spring of 2006 Ralph enjoyed diving in Cozumel, Mexico, and by the end of his 2nd season as a diver he had completed 87 dives and had a total of three specialty certifications.

In 2007 Ralph took a trip to Roatan with his newly-certified dive buddy, his wife Dorothy. In that season he completed his Rescue Diver certification and added three more specialties to earn the coveted Master Scuba Diver rating, and he closed out the season with 124 dives.

Over the next four years Ralph made additional excursions to Cozumel, the Bahamas, Bonaire, and Belize, and in Spring of 2011 he chose to begin the PADI Divemaster program with Master Scuba Diver Trainer Brian Morse, also known as AquaMunkee of AquaMunkee Scuba.

Ralph was a natural talent in the Divemaster program, and when he completed his Divemaster certification in August he immediately enrolled in the Instructor Development Course at Underwater Connections in Delafield, Wisconsin. His Course Director for the instructor course was Colin Zylka, and Ralph completed his Instructor Examination October 9, 2011 at Haigh Quarry in Kankakee, Illinois.

Because of his exceptional performance in the Divemaster program, Ralph was asked to join the AquaMunkee Scuba team immediately after completing his instructor certification.

In addition to earning his Open Water Scuba Instructor certification, which authorizes Ralph to teach every level from Discover Scuba through Divemaster, Ralph is also certified to teach the following specialty courses:

Ralph is also an Emergency First Response instructor, which includes optional care for children and automatic electronic defibrillator (AED) training as well.

In his life away from diving, Ralph works as a Senior Electrical Engineer at Accuray, Incorporated, designing the electronics of the TomoTherapy radiation treatment machine. He is excited about his role in saving lives by developing one of the most advanced weapons in the fight against cancer.

Ralph is also an Amateur Radio operator, licensed continuously since 1970, and he designs and builds electronics as a hobby. He developed his first photographic film when he was 11 years old and has been taking pictures ever since. Because of this lifelong interest in photography, it is no surprise that as an instructor he brings this passion into his love of underwater photography and videography.

Just email Aqua.Gable if you would like to arrange some training with Ralph, or just want to drop him a line to say hello.

AquaMunkee Scuba is a PADI training facility, focused on the PADI approach to diver education and also offering training through the related organizations DSAT/Tec Rec and Emergency First Response.
